Just had fantastic night. Went to see Kris Kristofferson and he must have sang about 40 or more songs including duets with his daughter, The hall was full and he had the audience in the palm of his hand, just MAGIC.

That's good news, and good news too dilli. I'd rather lose my hearing than my sight. Would hate to not have eyesight.
On a side note, an hour of research tonight has taken me, on my stepdad's side, back to 1595. His 9th great grandparents that's taken me back to. Got 545 people on it, and tomorrow when I do more there are 947 hints to get through.

New rucksack (Camdengear) delivered today, easily swallows up the 17" laptop into the larger padded pocket. Loads of space for other clobber.
Good service by Amazon logistics, arrived two days before scheduled.

On the 12th January while I was at the hospital for a routine check up the Doctor said that he wanted to check something out. I was quite upset yesterday when a appointment for the Day Surgery Unit arrived and stated that the procedure of Flexible Sigmoidoscopy did not require sedation and I will be fully awake during it. I phoned the hospital today who said that is correct you do not require sedation so I asked to speak to someone that deals with anxious patients and was put through to the Endoscopy nurse and she was indeed very nice and understood my fears, she said that she is putting on my notes that I wish sedation she even gave me her name just in case their is any problems. Feeling better about the procedure now. I just did not fancy being awake during it, I much prefer the thought of co-operative sedation that has an amnesic effect where I am unlikely to remember the procedure.
Now that's what I call a true Nurse someone that reassures the patient and truly cares. I have emailed the hospital with praise for this lady at putting my mind at rest.

Just not looking forward to the Moviprep it really does taste disgusting

A good mate of mine has been through this twice in the last coupled of months and it wasn't as unpleasant as he'd feared. Anyway I'm sure your family will ensure you get plenty of TLC before and after. |

@ weenie, I know what you mean weenie. I always ask for sedation and have been given ketamine for both colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy procedures. Although, for me, it doesn't wipe out my memories it does kind of put them in a box and although I kind of remember the Ketamine makes it tons more bearable. I just wish the horrible PREP!!!!!! was as easily forgotten. <<<hugs>>> in advance.

A friend of mine had a booking for a table for two for next Friday lunchtime, but can't make it, so my wife and I are going instead - result.
