Suggested I try modem mode, which I did and speeds are back up to normal again. Looks like another bug with the SH3. Modem mode made no difference to the latency though.

If you don't want the SH3 get them to install a SH2ac, that will probably fix your problems and hopefully when the SH3 is out of trial it will work well.
Alternatively use your own router for now if you have one.

That's not roaming, and has nothing to do with the "Roaming aggressiveness" setting you were talking about before.

Using the same SSID for all doesn't seem to help on Windows (with the above setting). I just connected to one box and then moved the laptop to the other end of the house, at -80dB and 11Mbps it is still hanging on to the first one even though situated right next to the other box with the same SSID and enough signal to reheat my cup of tea. Damn things never quite drop.

Not all APs and drivers support roaming properly.

It doesn't look like obfuscation to me, or if it is then it's done entirely by hand - so I'd class it as clumsy all the same. It just looks like really shoddy code.

There's a mix of LG and Arris code.
Since the Arris delivery was delayed and didn't ship until late summer I figure some poor sod at LG got the 'developer job' for the GUI at the last moment and was told something like "here's the Arris code, you've got two weeks to hack something together before trial."
I wouldn't touch that JQuery Ajax stuff with a barge pole.

Or they just got some student intern in to do it. Why pay a proper developer?

JQuery/AJAX in general or the stuff being used on the hub? Because JQuery is amazing and SPAs would be nearly impossible without them.

Re: Just got the SuperHub 3
On router stats display it says
Code:
Router Status
This page displays information on the status of Mercury modem's HFC and IP network connectivity.
Where does the reference to "Mercury" come from, just curious...

That.. does not sound good. I'm a firm believer in that if you make passwords too stupidly complex, then they get written down, thereby nullifying any security.
I've seen studies that purport to prove that simple but easy to remember long passwords are better than shorter overcomplicated passwords that get written down.

It's not - it was the internal VM name for the kit.

Re: Just got the SuperHub 3
Upgrading to 200mbps tomorrow and getting a new hub delivered, wonder if it'll be the new one?

My customer couldn't think of one that met all the criteria so kept it as it was
