Oled Tvs
A guy at PC world gave me a demo of one of their LG 52" Oled 4K displays
I was blown away by the image on the screen, u could see every single detail.
But as i said to him, pointless getting one now when very few things offer 4K, i may aswell wait a year or so when 4K has really taken off and that way i can proberbly get even more for my money.

Re: Oled Tvs
It's not worth it for 4K but OLED gives spectacular colour.

Re: Oled Tvs
Doesn't OLED have a short life too (it certainly does on phones) and suffer burn in etc that other tech does not.

As I understand it it's the blue OLEDs that have a problem of degradation with time so as time goes on the colour balance can shift plus the issue of burn in. The technology is still young and needs a bit of time for the problems to be shook out.
Once sorted it is the right way to go IMHO.

Re: Oled Tvs
The key thing, because OLED is a light emitting display, rather than a light filtering display like LCD, it can run from true black to maximum brightness.
Closest thing in LCD is LED backlit (not edgelit) with local dimming, so the backlight is reduced in areas that are darker.

Doesn't mean it will though.
