Dead Phone
Ok, here's the story.
Last night about 20:20 I think that all 3 of my services dropped dead. Internet, phone definitely, TV I'm uncertain about as I don't have an actual TV receiver any more.
I waited about 10 minutes to see if they came back, which they didn't, so since my phone line was dead, I was forced to use my mobile phone @ 59p/minute to call that 0345 number. Twice, because the first time it rang off without being answered.
I finally got through to someone after wasting almost £8 on the call, and they booked an engineer.
I got woken up at 10amish not sure exactly when I was half asleep. The engineer had sent me an SMS cancelling the appointment as they had located and rectified an area fault.
Fair enough. I got downstairs, and yep, my internet was restored. So I picked up the phone to check... Still dead.
I even went out and bought a new BT Duet handset to try in case it was a faulty handset. Still dead.
By dead I mean no dialtone.
I want it fixed, but don't want to waste another £8 on mobile phone charges. I have posted on the official forums, but no responses. I have tried twitter, but no responses.
I am getting quite fustrated by the lack of contact options. It seems my only choice is a hideously expensive phone call. Is there any option I have missed?

Re: Dead Phone
The smartcall app can also call 150?
I thought it was restricted to geographical numbers that would be free from a VM landline.

Re: Dead Phone
Apparently 03* numbers are included in my inclusive minutes anyway... When did that happen (rhetorical question). Either way, technician now scheduled for Fri evening. Thanks

Nobody charges anywhere near 59p/minute for an 0345 call unless you're calling from a different continent. On 3 it's 3p. Other networks charge up to 20p.

From the minute they existed, eight years ago.

Re: Dead Phone
Turns out some toerags had been in the green cabinet and messed with the wiring for a giggle.
Technician reconnected my phoneline and left. I thought everything was fine, then a friend came over, he couldn't get me on the phone. So I dialed my mobile from my landline, and my mobile showed a NEIGHBOURS number.
So I guess the techy connected the wrong wires. Forced to phone in again, new techy on tues.
They are going to get tired of me soon.
