Didn't you say you actually wanted something with dual-radio 5Ghz? And that unlike most consumers you'd actually know how/why to use it?

... Given most 802.11AC client devices (including top-of-the-range laptops) only go are dual-stream and 866Mbps or less, MU-MIMO is the only way these could be of any benefit and that's notoriously hard to implement correctly.

If anyone can do it, Asus can. They've built a decent little reputation for themselves and open-sourcing their firmware is an instant win for me.

Asus has very little control over the behaviour of a finished wireless chip. They don't design the hardware or the drivers. And if the hardware designers themselves and the people who write the drives and firmware can't do it, and neither Cisco or Juniper or the other big enterprise vendors can't do it, I don't hold out much hope for Asus.
