I agree with this although a source told me in past it was going to launch on vm tivo by end of 2015 i personally can't see it, Amazon are currently pushing their fire tv devices, and concentrating on original content they have just recently signed up the top gear trio.

been told by vm on twitter it launches for tomorrow. lets see if that happens mate @theroonmeister

Not many people are going to buy a Fire TV box who don't have Prime video, so adding it to Tivo could entice more subscribers, who may also buy a Fire box or Stick for the bedroom.
The potential downside is for VM in my view, as more people could be tempted to downgrade to M TV and just use that coupled with Netflix and Amazon video via Tivo. However VM have previously expressed an interest in having Amazon video. VM couldn't have added Amazon to Tivo prior to early 2015 anyway as Prime video hadn't been developed for Tivo until then. Now it could be added if both parties want it.

Prime video was added to the US Tivo Premier (which software wise VM's Tivo is based on) earlier this year. I believe the Roamio got it late 2014. Prior to that, US Tivos could only download purchased Amazon video titles and not stream video from Amazon.

Agreed. It's a tough calculation for Virgin to make. If Amazon and Netflix pay VM a fee it might suit VM for customers to pay smaller monthly bills to VM if they're getting commission from Amazon and Netflix. One issue might be YouView; if Amazon Prime launches on that then VM might decide that it may as well host Amazon Prime. It's an interesting thing to follow.

We also don't know what the deal is with VM and Netflix and perhaps Netflix has an exclusivity deal on TIVO that assures them as being the only one on the platform in UK.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 2
only saw bits of bt sport europe this morning. they seem to be wanting to do a sky sports news style set up with fixtures on the left of the screen and news flashing at the bottom and the action in a box in the middle. i doubt this will continue with actual live football...he hopes

I wondered about that. But as Amazon has Netflix is on its devices, I suspect that Netflix would not have this type of exclusive agreement with VM as Amazon may not be so willing to continue the relationship.

I'm not saying it will never arrive on a pay tv box however personally I can't see it happening anytime soon that said what do I know. This is just my personal opinion and I will happily admit I was wrong should it happen.

Amazon's business model simply doesn't make sense, they sell the Fire TV and Stick at a loss and make the money back on subs. They are great boxes though however they simply need to be on everything like Netflix that will drive subs more then anything. To amazon it doesn't matter if I watch Instant streaming on A fire TV or via Kodi they still get my money, not having it on all devices is illogical
Having said that if you want Amazon Instant Streaming there is no point in waiting for it to come to Virgin just get one of their Fire TV or Sticks then yo will realise how bad the apps are on Tivo.

I can see what your saying but Amazon is so different to Netflix for instance with Amazon you can rent/purchase the latest titles which would be a direct and probably cheaper rival to Virgin Movies. I'm not sure who the Virgin Movies service is provided by but who knows what the current contracts allow for.
On Amazons own products they also have the ability to sell other Amazon products such as apps , games etc it pays for them to keep you in their own ecosystem.

Given that Virgin have already made an approach to Amazon, they clearly don't see this as a problem.

There is no such downside for VM, IMO. All Virgin have to do is to say that Amazon is available as part of a package for those who have XL.
