I was genuinely blown away (pun intended). As pages were taking longer than normal to load I was expecting to see my upstream saturated and thought I might be getting 1MB/sec max with it being a Sunday. When I saw it was nearly hitting 2MB/sec my keyboard got a shower.

Meh, 2MB/sec will be pretty normal for me come next week.

6. The yellow and blue should be a lot less fuzzy. I'll leave my connection idle for today so you can see what it should be like (ideally) (you'll have to wait for it to clear itself throughout the day):

Yes. Rather suspiciously, a few days after I wrote a complaint to Openreach some fibre contractors dug up my road and suddenly I have FTTC available.
I suspect the events were connected in some way but I just can't put my finger on it.

Re: 50Mb connection feels laggy (power levels?)
sweet, so do you think you'll get the full 76/20? Have you had a look at the speed estimator thingy? I have just had a look and I think it has gone downhill but they are obviously trying to cover their asses. They have been quite specific the last couple of years are said 53/13 as a minimum but now it says 45-64mbits download and mentions nothing about the upload.

Almost certainly, yes. Less than 60m from the cab and line length of about 80m.
Estimate is 70-80Mbps down, 20-20Mbps up (Clean) and 60-80Mbps down, 12-20Mbps up (Impacted). Last place had almost exactly the same estimate on exactly the same cab and was getting full 80/20 (with headroom).

Surely that's somewhat coincidental? It takes weeks to get that kind of approval, surely?

Let the man think that his complaint resulted in previously unplanned street works to be planned and implemented within a matter of days, it harms no-one

I'm sure it's entirely coincidental. But still a suspicious sequence of events. The irony being, after I complained about them giving inaccurate fix dates, they gave me an even more inaccurate fix date

Re: 50Mb connection feels laggy (power levels?)
Not me, I have fast internets again
So fast that remote desktopping to my home PC to get my modem stats isn't a complete chore anymore
Code:
6. Data rate: 20000 / 76950
7. Maximum data rate: 30623 / 77215
8. Noise margin: 12.8 / 6.6
9. Line attenuation: 15.2 / 15.8
10. Signal attenuation: 15.1 / 15.8
Evidently, a lot of crosstalk, but just look at that upstream margin! I could be uploading at 30Mbps!

Re: 50Mb connection feels laggy (power levels?)
I would love 30mbits up. A long time away for me unfortunately (if VM ever get there).
Edit: I would hazard a guess at 10 years which is when I expect they'll be cracking on with fttp or some equivalent

I don't think it'll be that long. Within 5 at the outmost, if you ask me.
