Two things.
Shops selling school uniforms when the schools here are just breaking up for the holidays.
Parents who are moaning about the school holidays already, I love it when the school breaks up for the holidays, I even loved the school holidays when I was working and having to juggle with child care.

I'm not fussed about the holidays, as long as the neighbour over the way doesn't let her kids play outside from 8 in the morning until 9 at night. A couple of hours screaming I can just about tolerate, but not 12 hours of it.
Especially as last week they were throwing stones and some hit me on the ankle. Little beggars soon ran away when they realised they had hit someone.

Ah, but they don't break up here until around the 23rd of July so still a month's worth of peace.

We have 7 kids in all at our close plus the friends with 3 bikes 2 large scooters, Some days it is very loud & other days they are ok. It is when they run in & out and bang doors it is awful.

Dishwasher's thrown a wobbly: Keeps pulsing on and off and getting more full of water. I unwisely opened the door to check and it came gushing out. At least it's in the same water resistant utility room as the leaky washing machine.
Last time it did this several years ago it was a sensor pipe in the base had got clogged with grease. Hopefully it's the same again as it was an easy fix.
It's got far enough through the cycle that the plates are clean, just wet.
Job for tomorrow: Deep clean the beastie.

in my experience if the dishwasher breaks down just tell her she's not getting a lift to bingo
