Yes, but that makes the figures worse

"Q1 combined U.K./Ireland customer churn of 14.5% driven by a third successive quarter of record low U.K. churn of 14.3%, compared to 15.4% in the comparative period of 2014"

Agreed which means they are replacing all those who've left the question is at what cost , both are businesses somebody has to fund all the new customer discounts and incentives not to mention the retentions deals.

I'll agree both are making good profits and are healthy businesses however in my opinion traditional pay tv is in for a reality check over the coming years , just my opinion of course and I'm happy for you to correct me in several years.
The complete package on Sky now costs in excess of £75 just for TV , I've no idea about VM but those prices are eye watering and future high price rises are unsustainable in my opinion.

Haven't VM now started lumping UPC Ireland figures in I believe Sky do the same they also include Now TV subs making it ever harder to get the full picture.

It is harder, but they are all, essentially, owned by the same company. Until we see cord cutting become more expensive than Sky or VM etc currently charge, they will use these figures to the best of their advantage. Ultimately, in this day and age it is all about "lies, damned lies, and statistics".

According to post on Dspy bt are advising AMCUK will be available to Sky customers who have bt sports on the sky platform, so there is hope for vm yet. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...3&postcount=51

I think the original wording was along the lines of "available to BT Customers (with the full BT Sports pack) via the Sky EPG."
You don't have to be a 'Sky customer' to get BT Sport via the Sky platform - but you do have to be a 'BT Customer' to get BT Sport via Sky platform.

It also seems to must have opted for the full BT Sports pack on Sky.

Sky customers with BT Sport are 'BT Customers' too.

Those watching via VirginMedia are NOT 'BT customers'.

I hope it does come - but currently it is still promoted as being only available to 'BT customers'.

Is it not true that by offering desirable sports channels to the XL package, VM attracts high numbers of sports fans giving VM better numbers to negotiate deals better deals for the non sports channels, if bt sports was in a sports package and all the sports fans dropped XL then then VM wouldn't be able to negotiate based on potential advertising revenue.

I agree with you. VM has said that BT Sport Europe is coming but has not mentioned that AMC is coming. Hopefully BT will stretch the definition of customer.

Yes, and also to probably stop lots of emails to them which all cost time and money to answer.

Our sources have told us over the past weekend that Virgin Media and BT are still in talks on how to bundle BT Sport Europe.
