Illegal Immigrants - 68 People Found In Lorries At UK Port

From reading, and listening to this report. It goes to show you that illegals are coming into the UK, and they don't know how many.

In the Tv report, the Border controls have already said that they 'don't check every vehicle'.

We already have the container loads of people. Now this. and what are the government doing about - absolutely nothing.

We need more guards on our borders. and the people traffickers are licking there lips over this.

It has already been said over recent months, that they are trying to stop this. But when. Peoples lives are at risk here - and the only route the traffickers know - is the United Kingdom

David Cameron has said that he will try and cap immigrants coming here - l suggest he goes to all these ports, and check each vehicle. But there again in a few weeks , they all go on there summer holidays for three months.

Every vehicle should be checked, every container opened.

But then they would start arriving in quiet coves I suppose along with drugs and weapons.

We really should have an organisation to patrol and prevent all this.... a "Customs and Immigration Service" perhaps?

Mark Sedwill stated in June 2013 that there would be huge cuts in 2015,Immigration staffing would be slashed to ribbons at a saving of £11.5 billion.
I would imagine that figure would be substantialy higher now that we are in the age of austerity,oh well,such is life I suppose.

If you watch a doc series on Border Controls, they showed Dover and what they did to find illegals.

It was totally shocking to see where they got the illegals from. But, to me they have to stop EVERY VEHICLE that comes off boats - but they say you cannot do that, as they don't have the staff.

IF, the government checked everyone that comes in - the figure would stun everyone. And this is no laughing matter - at the end of the day. Its out taxes that will be paying for them - either to stay, or to send them back.

Several weeks ago, in the national papers. It stated that a Judge deported a serial criminal - only a couple of months later he was back before the same judge on a charge of rape

Checking every vehicle may well prevent a large number of illegal immigrants from getting caught but in practise is completely unworkable, it would cause complete chaos. The resulting delays would require far more manpower and money than is currently available and the trafficers and immigrants know this.

I'm not saying we let everyone in unchecked but neither ends of the scale are what will deal with this.

You can't have things both ways: if you vote in a government that is pushing through an austerity programme then you will get big cuts to public services i.e. customs, border control, police, social care, defence, etc.

Plus Dave promised 5 years ago to cut immigation and he never did so why believe him now?

I wouldn't trust or believe him if he said it was raining and I was standing there getting wet but in fairness he has the threat of UKIP these days so he's likely to at least appear to be doing something more about it now.
