Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I've done the deed, 50% off Sky is a great deal. But what clinched it was the comments made by the VirginMedia retention teams (I rang twice, so maybe a scripted response?). They only seemed interested in retaining my broadband business! Encouraging me to retain their broadband and move my TV to Sky!
Almost as if the TV is dying element of their business!
So although I'm not A prolific poster on this forum I do and will follow it on a regular basis, but good luck to those waiting for for nothing to happen on virgin TV

Yeah, retentions were rubbish for me too. They offered me a £1.50 saving, which is, of course, better than nothing but it was nowhere near enough to keep my custom. It is a shame, VM have done very little wrong and I will miss Tivo but it really seemed they were not fussed about keeping my TV business. The only thing I can think of if is that I have been given too many discounts over the years, and they are not making any money from my TV account anymore.

Yeah, pretty much. It was an easily fixed glitch, fortunately.

I'll be joining you guys soon as I'll be doing same as ase001 and moving TV to Sky whilst retaining broadband with VM. I think VM played their card a few years ago by investing heavily in their broadband for the future which will probably be a good decision in years to come as people move away from pay TV in favour of streaming options. However, whilst pay TV is still strong, content is king and VM don't have any of their own to barter with.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I believe Liberty Global may own some of All3media content along with Discovery...was there such a deal done last year?
Not sure if this is enough to be able to barter with? I doubt it though lol

That's correct Liberty Global and Discovery bought All3media , its a 50/50 split I think.
All3media is a production company who create content for the likes of ITV , Channel 4 etc.
