$10 a month! Wonder what that'll translate to in English?

£6.66 I think.

Nah I still reckon it's suspicious renewing contracts with channels long term , increasing bills, not spending any additional money on new channels or packages. As a buyer I'd be more appealed by virgin media
Still think vm they're trying to sell or maybe the channel acquisition team have got lost somewhere
|
We think Virgin Media and UPC Ireland acquisition teams will become one.
But Virgin Media bosses are just doing things the Telewest way - Going for new channels when broadcasters deals are up.
What set to happen in June on Virgin Media:
-Nat Geo Wild HD may launch next week (June 2nd).
-Sky Arts 2 and Sky Arts 2 HD to close on June 9th.
-Some V0-- Channels are still testing (As of Sunday) real names TBC.

It's on Freeview, so if you have an aerial you should be able to receive it.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
Why on earth do VM wait till the deal comes up, before going for more.
On Sky, as soon as a new channel comes out - it goes straight on the system. Liberty Global / VM directors must treat its customers as mugs - at the end of the day, its us that pay the bill
And l for one wont pay for BT Sport, if it becomes a pay channel

If, like me, you're fed up with 'Coming Soon' and want it now then Sky have 50% off for 12 months again for Virgin switchers - http://www.sky.com/shop/offers/switch-to-sky/
£37.88 for everything (minus BT Sport of course) is truly a bargain!

Thanks Superblade. As much I disliked my service from Sky previously, I have messaged my new landlord to see if he will let me have a Sky dish.
That deal is too good to miss and seeings as VM's retentions team can only offer me a £1.50 saving on my current bundle, with out throwing in sports or movies, I am happy to take a risk on Sky again.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
i got the 50% off my sky package,i must say its better than i thought it would be even in the rain, the pic quality is crystal clear and box seems so much quicker than my tivo.to be honest ive not watched sky atlantic but have downloaded the box sets im interested in e.g game of thrones, the mrs likes itv encore but most of it is just reapeats e.g downton abby .ok so you carnt record 3 channels ,but thats not needed as catch up is very good,i got my package for £35 pounds with all sports and movies in hd, plus i got a free sky+hd box for the bedroom for just an extra £5 with free install,so at that price it was a no brainer

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I wish I could get Sky where I live, but I live in a tower block which doesn't allow us to have our own dish. Otherwise I'd snap up this offer in an instant!

I'm very surprised they don't have a communal dish? My daughter lives up the Warren and they have a dish and freeview serving the whole block.

If its a Free-to-Air channel (eg. Spike) there is no deal to do, as the channel providersimply rents an EPG slot from Sky at the going rate. Their transaction is directly with SES for the lease of the transponder slot.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
Interesting Article I've found, coming soon to Tivo?
"Further, in April, we extended our deal with Virgin Media, and as part of the new agreement, Virgin Media has committed to the development of next-generation solutions from TiVo.

I presume that's because it would cost more to take just one channel than to take a package of channels. So to get the best deal, they wait for the whole package to come up for renewal. This keeps prices down, which is what you want and expect.
The position with Sky is completely different, and this has been explained on numerous occasions before (latest explanation is contained in post #2320).
As far as BT Sport is concerned, if it becomes a pay channel for XL viewers on VM, that will be down to BT Sport and what it is prepared to offer to VM. Some would say that it would be better for BT Sport to be a pay channel as currently non-sports lovers are having to pay for this privilege.
