'Diet or lose benefits', unemployed obese warned
http://www.itv.com/news/story/2015-0...-obese-warned/
Why is it that Cameron and his awful government are picking on the poor and sick again.
Not only does he constantly attack the poor in Welfare cuts. He will now hit the fat and obese people.
He should hit the rich who fiddle there taxes. And those who refuse to pay more tax and use companies to avoid paying taxes

Re: Attacking the poor and sick again
There are a lot of people on benefits only because they are fat or are addicted to drugs or alcohol. In many (most?) cases this will be self-inflicted, and should not be supported by the taxpayer. Help to recover is the best option IMHO.

Re: Attacking the poor and sick again
Arthur read what's being proposed please it's a possible policy not set in stone and as long as sufficient treatment is available it won't just be ordinary working people that support this but many claimants as well. If treatment is available to someone and they refuse to take it then there should be a penalty because if my condition could be treated so I could work I'd be all over it and don't understand why someone wouldn't. Being honest I also am not keen on me being placed in the same category as people who can get their problems resolved but choose not to as nothing I can do will make mine go away and the best doctors can do is try to reduce pain totally different.

By all means help those who want to be helped but it's about time the carear benefits recipients were made to face up to their failings.

Re: Attacking the poor and sick again
Arthur I've said before there needs to be reform of the benefit system and I'd love to believe the conservatives or any political party was going to do it properly rather then speak about it or pretend they are doing it when they are doing nothing of the kind. The system was intended to be there "for those who through no fault of their own" needed it not because some not all but quite a few couldn't stop stuffing food\alcohol down their throat or smoking\injecting it that's an abuse of the system. There have been many cases where help has been rolled out to some only for them to not bother after a couple of visits safe that the system will take a while to realise they didn't bother. There are legitimate things to throw at the government this isn't one of them and you need to take some time after reading things arthur to have a think before jumping on here with entrenched anti Tory rubbish they have handed out more then enough ammo to use without you making some up.

Re: 'Diet or lose benefits', unemployed obese warned
I don't see a problem here.
People are too fat and lazy and need a good kick up the arse to get them moving and being more healthy.
People are too reliant on hand outs and aren't willing to sort themselves out.
You claim the Government are trying to hurt the sick or poor. But in actual fact they are trying to help those who are fat and lazy. Many people on benefits are there through choice and can't be bothered doing anything about their lie/lifestyle.
They are trying to save tax payers money that is being spent on junkies and fatties.

Great lets euthanize the fatties, obese, druggies, alcoholics, smokers - that will save us loads of Tax money - then I wonder what the savings will, if ever will be spent on.

Are you really supporting state aided obesity, alcoholism and drug addiction? Or is it that giant anti Tory chip on your shoulder?
