Well all that training benefits patient care if you are out of touch how can you treat the patient. I'm not saying deaths are unavoidable despite training. Just that papers and the public are quick to pick at staff as if they have just walked off the street without knowing how to do the job

Well spoken Gavin78.

Question though - do the best staff get promoted out of the job they are good at and leave the "dregs" to do the work? Same in most professions though. Need to allow those good at a job to be better paid for that job without needing to go to management.

If the staff didn't have the right training then the deaths would be understandable. The fact that, as you say, they know how to do the job makes those deaths perplexing.

Well no it doesn't even with training mistakes happen. I know it's unfortunate that we all make mistakes and i know it's not the wrong price on a product it's a persons life. But you have to weigh up each individual case and see how we can learn from it. I have to agree though despite training some ppl shouldn't work in a caring job.
