Is there a default "keep until"
Since the recent update date of Tivo software, I found some of my recordings were automatically scheduled for delete with the sand dial icon. I do notice there is an option for "until I delete" in series link edit, but for one off recordings, it looks like there isn't a default setting, I look high and low and still cannot find it. Have I missed it?

The default is "space needed" but you can change this in the recording settings. Not in front of my TiVo now but it's something like help & settings --> settings --> recordings.

Re: Is there a default "keep until"
You can't change it as a default - you have to change the setting each time you set a recording.
However, my experience of the sand timer icon is that you don't need to read too much in to it.

Andy's right; you can't change that in recording options. VM's user base were deemed not clever enough to understand that you need to start to delete things when the disc is getting full!

Re: Is there a default "keep until"
With only 10% of the disk filled, I noticed whole series that I had kept to watch later had suddenly been deleted. Despite the setting being "until space needed". I then had to undelete the lot.

I think that's because it was taking account of not just what you already had recorded, but also making room for what you'd asked it to record in the future.
And yes, before you say it, I know!

With a 1TB Tivo, he must have a heck of a lot of programmes set to record with 90% disc space free then!

If you were able to undelete them, they hadn't been deleted due to lack of space. When space is needed, the Recycle Bin gets emptied first.
Recording Hiccups would have told you why they were deleted, but it may be too late now.

I suspect that 'someone in your household deleted it'!
It's easily done. If you go back to 'My Shows' after viewing a recording and delete from the main menu, you will delete all the programmes in that group.

Re: Is there a default "keep until"
The only person able to do that sort of thing does not watch any of my series, he's only into weird cartoons.

Re: Is there a default "keep until"
I've found that with the menu now really laggy following th last update its very easy to press delete, not think it's done anything and end up deleting a couple of things at the same time. I've learnt to become very patient with it!
