Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

We have a 42" LG LCD bought 6 years ago and still going strong in the living room don't think I would go much bigger as our living room is only 15ft 10ins x 14ft 10ins. Some of the neighbours have 50" and IMO it takes over their living room although hubby would argue that as he would love a bigger tv.

80" although that's not a TV, it's a HD Projector. We use it in place of a TV because we don't have a TV.

Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

We've got a 40" which is more than big enough.
The average UK home living room isn't big enough to need anything bigger.

At work we have just bought some 65" TV's to use as information screens. They are massive!

Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

My main TV is a 40" Samsung.

My bedroom TV is a 32" 3D Samsung TV which I have connected a 3D Blu-Ray player.

The reason why?

Because that the largest TVs that will fit where they can be positioned.

My bro last year bought a 65" Sony 4k for his living room. The room is 20 foot long so sits far from it.

Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

Remember the days when you thought your 15" monitor was the bomb!

And you were so jealous of someone with a weighs like an elephant 20" monitor.

CRTs were awesome and they kept you warm during the winter... they should have given these out to OAPs to reduce their bills, so they could survive the winter.

Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

We have a 40" Sony; I recently looked at a 42" Sony Smart TV which was physically smaller that my 40". Decided I couldn't justify it as the old one works fine so bought a £40 Smart Blu-Ray instead!

Re: TV's are getting bigger: How big is yours?

We have a 28" CRT and that's fine for our room as although it's a fair size it's shape means most people are not far from the screen.

Costco used to have a 152" beastie but don't list it anymore.

42" 1080p LG is our main TV, I am looking at getting a 50" soon'ish (if I can get top office to agree) it's over 4 years old, has a superb picture but the sound let's it down.
37" 1080p Sharp Aquos in the bedroom this TV is about 7 years old and has a dodgy main board that sometimes requires one to keep pushing the power button a few times to get it to power on.

I remember having to carry a 21inch Iiyama monitor up four flights of stairs because the manager in the building thought that ONLY disabled users should be able to use the lift, and actually, had the lift call buttons replaced with switches that require a special key, and instructed her staff to give the key ONLY to disabled students.

The irritating part is that we'd actually bought the monitor to *help* a partially sighted (ie disabled) student.

I had a helper, and we are both big, strong men. We were still knackered, and wanted a drink when we finished. Which, of course meant going back down the the ground floor because we weren't allowed any drink making facilities (kettle, fridge, running water).
