NTLWorld.com to VirginMedia Email Address
I seem to remember that when NTL became Virgin Media that I read customers with NTLWorld.com email addresses would have the same emails ending in VirginMedia.com reserved for them.
Recently I tried to setup a VirginMedia.com email the same as one of my existing NTLWorld.com one's but it says the "email address is Unavailable". I tried all my NTLWorld.com emails and got the same answer.
Have the VirginMedia.com emails be reserved for me and if so how do I access them?

You can't - although there was a plan to allow customers to switch it was cancelled.
However, the virginmedia.com version of the addresses remain reserved so that can't be used.

I was allowed to have the same alias as my @ntlworld.com for an @virginmedia.com account. They sent me an e-mail saying I could set up one and have all my ntlworld e-mail forwarded so they must have at least started the plan for some people. How come they stopped it?

I don't know why people still tie themselves into ISP's mail services, use something like Gmail and then its an address for life as such.
