WWE PPVs will now cost £19.95 each via sky box office, except for Wrestlemania which is believed to be costing £27.95.
Still no news on Sky box office hd coming to vm either.

True, but it may be possible for Sky and HBO to work out a deal whereby a fully fledged HBO Go type service is available via Sky and Now TV. It could be a separate subscription on Now TV. But here are several possible ways they could do it.

The Now TV Entertainment pack is such a frustrating service for HBO content when compared to HBO Nordic, due to lack of back seasons and delays in showing new series and seasons. Surely, if Sky and HBO get their heads together, they could fix that with an appropriate deal.

I severely doubt you'll see that for a while , the Sky+HD box is setup to use progressive download rather than apps.

Whilst the Now TV box wouldn't have the same problem I can't see Sky offering premium features to its Now TV customers and leaving its premium paying satellite customers out in the cold.

Maybe when the new generation STB comes out , who knows.

If you buy into apps on a pay TV providers STB then I guess yes
Pay TV boxes are generally slow in my opinion and certainly not a pleasurable experience with apps , I'll stick with my streaming devices for this functionality.

There is no reason why any Sky satellite subscriber can't be given free access to HBO GO via the web or any device that supports Now TV. And they could also have a dedicated HBO channel on the Sky box

Agreed , so far this is something we haven't seen in the UK it's pretty much common place in the USA with the likes of HBO , Showtime and many sports also offer supplemental online coverage to pay TV subscribers.

I'd expect the next generation of STB's to be more geared to this functionality with ever increased importance in the cloud and video over IP.

Does anyone else think that a channel could be launching in February/March as a reason for the prise increase?

		 |

Price rises happen every year on VM and Sky so no. I do not think there will be any channels added because of the price rises.

Mars bar prices rise too but you don't get anything extra for that!

They went up in price and you get less now than you did at the cheaper price lol.

Anyway back on topic lol.

No channels are being added because of the price rise as i've already said only the two reported Sky channels will launch next month.

TalkTalk's international channels and those on VM's WorldBox are supplied by Globecast which is part of Orange (formerly France Telecom).
