I fail to see how you have concluded that these negotiations take a long time, if any negotiation are even taken place, I don't think it well known because negotiations take as long or as short as possible depending on co operation of side. Based on official releases sky reckon they gave a "fair" price , VM thinks not (and neither does any other provider). In that scenario I reckon talks are had but certainly not involving SA.

I fail to see what this channel sky bravo anything to do with this; the missing HD channels that have arrived or about to arrive have demonstrated agreements can be made without SA let alone a mystery non existent channel that was Rumoured to be starting, I fail to see that's it's non agreement with VM would fail to launch, ITV encore can without VM why not this bravo

I fail to see how NowTV is as you describe a last ditch attempt; TV over Internet is very much the future and sky is using this as a method to ensure its presence in this new(ish) market in light of new competition against its traditional model. Now offers a new market audience who don't wish to take expensive contracts.

i give you the fact that no one knows, and maybe deals with missing HD might see a new light of co operation but unless advertisers or regulation force sky hand to ensure bigger coverage or HBO requires it they ain't going to budge soon on this

Sky Atlantic is not going to arrive on VM anytime soon only 2 Sky channels are pencilled in for first half of 2015 and these have already been mentioned.
As for nowtv that was in the pipeline before Sky Atlantic even launched it was originally going to be a pay service on freeview called picnic this was delayed and delayed for some reason finally Sky went with nowtv.
I'm getting bored of reading about Sky Atlantic launching on VM simple answer VM were offered it VM refused to pay the silly ammount SKY were asking and good on VM i say.
Sky bravo is dead in the water all it ever was was a idea that got floated around and was quickly dismissed.
Sorry i quoted your post Anypermitedroute i was just using it as a reference and not to dismiss anything you was saying.
Will Sky Atlantic launch on VM? Not anytime soon is the simple answer.

You only have to look at the channel 4 stable to see how public service television can be run by a public organisation but be self-funding.

The channel launch was part of a 4 year partnership deal Sky. At the time they started broadcasting the press releases stated it would be exclusive to Sky customers for some, if not all of that period.

 Spot on.

And Now TV is probably attracting some VM TV customers who really want to see HBO content and are prepared to shell out a bit more money to watch it.

I can see no real advantage for Sky to add Atlantic to VM. Well, unless the upcoming Premiership bid leaves them strapped for cash

And also for Cord Cutters who want to choose the TV content that they pay for, in a more selective way.

No buffering at all on my 80mb plusnet connection although i suffered buffering when i was with VMs 100mb service which makes me wonder if VM are throttling still.

We never see any buffering issues on a BT Infinity connection most devices are wired or connected via homeplugs.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is `throttling`? Incidently I have buffering issues more often now I`m with virgin and their `superfast` broadband which I didn`t get when I was with Sky broadband. Makes you think, doesn`t it?

Throttling just means slowing down the speeds. VM say they don't throttle but it's bull they do throttle and i've caught them out on more than one occasion.

I access it via the web and an LG Bluray player with no problems whatsoever.

What device are you using to watch Now TV on?
