Plusnet best ever offer- Free BB & £75 cashback.

Free broadband for the first year, you only pay phone line rental, BUT £75 of this can be reimbursed.

Just make sure that reliability isn't a major concern. 3 national outages in the past 3 months. Pay peanuts...

Reminds me of all those dubious 'offers' of dial-up days that evaporated overnight because the company could not sustain the service and one frequently found oneself abandoned to a really crap service with two hour cut offs.

Are you talking about the ntl "free" dial-up offer which had 2 hour cut-off?
Remember it was "forever"! Anyone still on it? Is it still free?

Re: Plusnet best ever offer- Free BB & £75 cashback.

A friend of mine has just left Plusnet in Bury in Manchester as she was having all sorts of problems for months. She had been with them 4 years and now she is on Sky.

I didn't know about that, i'm surprised as Plusnet is owned by BT.

Ahhh, sounds like the same as the offers of "lifetime" customer discounts following the loss of the Sky channels. When people queried their removal they were subjected to such gems as "you didn't really think it would last for the rest of your life did you?" and "We were referring to the lifetime of the discount".

Re: Plusnet best ever offer- Free BB & £75 cashback.

I have been with PlusNet for over ten years and just moved the phone line over as its cheaper than BT and get both phone and BB for less than £29 a month for 2 years.

Would you mind updating the thread if you experience any problems with them?

Re: Plusnet best ever offer- Free BB & £75 cashback.

In those 10 years I've had a few issues, all being BT/OpenReach issues rather than PlusNet but PlusNet quickly got on their case and they were resolved. One was a recurrent issue in our exchange which the BT bloke explained when he came out, I know when it happens I phone PlusNet explain the situation and I don't get bombarded with all the usual stuff just tell them to book a BT bloke and its all sorted from there.

Cannot fault them in the slightest.

Not directed at me, but please see attachments.

Ticket raised to try and find out whether issue is capacity at Plusnet, capacity at their wholesale provider or something more local. I'm pretty sure it's nothing more local though as it only rears its head at peak periods.

Father in law signed up since end of november (also got £100 quidco as well as voucher), slower than sky by 3meg but no issues whatsoever.
