Probably not, as most medium to high value items have a security tag...

True. On the Argos website I always compare the current 'sale' price with the 'previously sold for' price in the small print at the end of the item description. A few days ago I found what looked like a good laptop deal (25% off £400 laptop) only to find the same machine had previously been sold for £50 less than the current offer price. Not such a good buy after all then...

Re: Panic Friday...

Like wild animals fighting over the best bits of a rotting carcass.

So Tesco are going to work with the police next time they do this. Well I hope they're going to foot the bill (no pun intended). The fact that they even have to contemplate wasting police time on people who are too stupid to exist is a pretty daming indictment.

Re: Panic Friday...

Well I was out at the local shopping centre and saw no riots,no shoving,no abuse.I dropped by the 24/7 Asda later and again all was calm..and still plenty of 'bargains' available.

The media just love this stuff.

Shocking, it's like the zombie apocalypse, the great underclass of the UK leave the estate and descend upon the retail outlets of the country.

Re: Panic Friday...

Greatly amused that the XBox One was in the Black Friday sales while I didn't see the PS4 in them.

Funny that as Game had a PS4 & Xbox One bundle in their sale both online and instore. Both heavily advertised on their site and facebook & Twitter. So I don't know how you missed it.

Both were £299 and included two games Drive Club and Last of us Remastered for PS4 and Assassins Creed: Black Flag & Unity for the One bundle.

Went past my local store today and it was only the PS4 one that was showing as sold out. I went for the One bundle as midnight buyers also got Forza 5 and Lego Marvel.

I don't look especially closely at Game's adverts as they're overpriced as a general rule and their physical retail presence is largely obsolete - thanks for the correction.

That I don't watch TV, listen to radio or soak up many advertisements online due to ad blockers doesn't really help either. TV and radio are almost universally a pile of pap and online advertisements are a waste of bandwidth.

Re: Panic Friday...

Their online pricing is now generally cheaper than in store and they are actively trying to do the right thing, however some of their new game prices are rather high.

They must be doing something right though as their stock price keeps rising.

Re: Panic Friday...

I really think that Black Friday should be returned to America given the fighting over cut price TV's and the like.

Why can't we just do like we always did before this horrible American import?

Stop globalisation now and go back to our own great British tradition ......

Shoplifting!

Re: Panic Friday...

It's absolutely disgraceful and sickening...

These people are under mind control and have been brainwashed completely.

Lacking any morality and putting materialistic obsession ahead of upholding civility.

Its so sad to see people with their arms outstretched begging for this worldly life and its possessions. So much so that they're prepared to trample over fellow human beings without any remorse. Utterly selfish. The very root of social disorder.

Sad sad sad... Where's the love we once shared?

This is the work of satan Iblis who is succeeding in this part of the world as people have no faith any more so God can't protect them from this disease of the soul.

May God uplift mankind in spirituality and elevate us beyond this lowly craving for mere objects to such an extent that we're prepared to fight over them. These are attributes of animals, hyenas!

Heal our hearts, soul and mind...

DID YOU KNOW: Black Friday stemmed from slavery? It was the day after Thanks giving when salve traders would sell slaves for a discount to assist plantation owners with more helpers for the upcoming winter (for cutting and stacking fire wood, winter proofing etc.), hence the name

see you next year RUSS at car boot sale.
