The only real chance for Rosberg to take the championship would have been a problem for Hamilton - with both Mercedes running without issue, they would be 1-2. Worst thing for next season though, they reckon there are already some extra horsepower to be found, so it could be a Mercedes runaway
I think this was Rosberg's best chance. Merc should maintain a performance advantage for a fair chunk of next year, and should also improve reliability, which was pretty much the only thing which kept this year's championship alive. Can't wait already...
