Debrecen argued that they fielded Peter Mate in good faith as a substitute in Bulgaria when they were leading 4-1 on aggregate.

Uefa ruled that Debrecen had "no interest in fielding this player for the three last minutes of additional time, when the score was so clearly in its favour".

SKY are reporting that UEFA's disciplinary regulations decree that a match may be declared a forfeit if an ineligible player participates, "as long as the opposing team files a protest." Looks like the ball is in Celtic's court. Will they take their 6-1 thrashing with dignity or will they speak up looking for a back door into the next round? Or has this situation arisen due to Celtic lodging a protest already?
 | Sorry. It is not back door. If legia broke the rules, that is their fault. Celtic have every right to appeal.

Not well enough for you to leave your derogatory bigoted comments behind obviously.

That applies to ineligible players for other reasons. The wording of the rule for fielding suspended players doesn't have the requirement for the opposing team to appeal.
It seems that it has been brought to the attention to UEFA by one of their own officials.
I never knew that UEFA had officials that actually done anything |

Disgusting. That is the second time now that they have been given a back door entry. I hope they get the worst draw of their lives next leg. UEFA need to find some consistency, why were Warsaw kicked out yet Debrecen in similar circumstances not kicked out?

Yet again Celtic are going back into the prime league, despite being thrashed and playing poorly.
This is the second time that they have gone back in through the rear door. Makes me wonder if Celtic already knew of the 'player' and didn't bother saying anything.

I think Spurs should appeal against Arsenal winning a Europa league spot by One point. All this crap gets my goat.

Celtic lost over two legs, get over it. The way they played was a disgrace. I am sure that Celtic fans will be jumping with joy over this. But everything gets given to them on a plate.

Like the SPL this season, they have probably won it before even starts. This is not sour grapes either. Back door again.

What annoys me more is the fact there is no consistency with the punishments. If Debrecen can only get a fine, why can't Warsaw also have a fine? Platini is just as stupid as Sepp Blatter and that is saying something.

Celtic played badly and dont really deserve to be back in.
But Warsaw broke the rules and the punishment is clearly outlined.

There is nothing back door about this decision. Warsaw obviously thought they could get away with breaking the rules.

Because of the double standards den. Debrecen got a fine for the same offence, so why didn't UEFA issue the same one to Warsaw? And not only that, Celtic were already 6-1 down on aggregate so what advantage, if any, did the player give Warsaw?
This is what I don't understand, the fact that punishments are differing between teams. Either a fine or a 3-0 win to the other team, not choose which one to give depending on which team it is that breaks the rule.

 | Its does not matter if the scoreline was 36-0 Mark as clearly a rule was broken and thus UEFA had no option but to chuck them out of the competition.
