Sorry MM (and everyone else), have re-read the email and it said prices may go up, not that they will. Yeah I seem to recall having a price rise earlier in the year, but if this potential new increase gives me Netflix (for less than £5.99) in my bundle And possibly more, I will be happy to pay it.

Sorry, I misread the email, it said they may have to increase prices. It did not say they will increase prices. Apologies for the confusion.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
I recently participated in a survey by Nunwood for Virgin Media which was mainly concerned with bundles. They also spoke of packages with Netflix bundled in, so I too think the future may well see theone2k10's prediction become true.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
For what it is worth, whilst speaking to retentions yesterday, woman seemed pretty definite that Sports channels would be launching on Thursday July 17th, and she said that as far as she knows SSN and SN would be launching in HD by Christmas (no mention of a year though!). Asked about Atlantic as we were waiting for a screen to load, she reckons that it will launch before the end of 2015. How much is true, I have no idea. Thursday seems a good bet for launch though.

I think it'll balance itself out tbh, Netflix being in XL will be covered by either A. a price rise or B. funds from the XLTV pack itself.
I'm not sure how much channels get from VM for being in their packs.

Is anything really free ? You'd imagine they'd increase XL charges to cover its addition , to be honest with the exception of the Netflix Originals a lot of its content can be sourced using TIVOs recording/wishlist functionality across the vast range of channels.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
I have Netflix as part of my `free for 6 months` deal when I re-joined Virgin and I can honestly say after 3 months I`ve yet to see anything on that I`ve wanted to watch! My partner has watched a bit of stuff on there though but nothing as far as I`m aware she couldn`t of found elsewhere.

One thing you should bear in mind Mark is never believe what customer services or retentions say about possible things that might arrive on such and such a day because simply they would not be privy to that information until the day it launches.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
Everyone seems fixated with "XL" as a package yet to me Virgin are trying to move away from these terms. Virgin now offer different bundles e.g. Big Easy, Big Bang, Big Kahuna & Big Daddy all with different combinations of broadband size, available TV channels (60+, 130+, 230+, 260+), boxes and phone.
Add ons will be available to these bundles i.e. Sky Sports / Movies and the future will probably see 200, 300, 400 mb broadband and Netflix being available to certain bundles (and maybe Sky Atlantic). However there is one thing that's for sure, nothing will be free!

Nothing has changed, at all. There have always been bundles, which are combinations of three, now four, services.
There have always been different sizes of each of the different services. TV has acquired a new one, moreTV, and the others are M, M+, L and XL.

I did say I would take it with salt, but I think she might be spot on with the launch of the remaining sports channels. The rest? Time will tell.
