Similar to the whinging about owners, there is an easy solution, don't allow them to take over clubs. But equally, be prepared to struggle when funds get tight, or have clubs close.

My view, let the clubs close. There is too much spending without any thought in football. I like the idea of only being able to spend what you can show is in the bank, and it is ring-fenced. The victims of the over spending isn't the football clubs that close, but the businesses that expect payment, but can't because a club over spent and caused an issue.

I think what you're saying is that if a club goes into administration because of overspending then they should be allowed to fold?

In which case, of course, local suppliers would get nothing as opposed to at least a percentage of what they're owed.

Although I agree, it is the local small businesses that suffer in such circumstances. Prevention is far better than cure so perhaps the new financial fair play rules will make a difference.

I might have missed this since I really can't be bothered to re-read the whole thread but is ESPN dropping out of XL tv at end of July a new change?
"TV Channels: Channel line ups are subject to change and from the end of July ESPN channels will no longer be included in TV XL. "

from the small print at the bottom.

or is this last years announcement but they forgot to remove it?

Looks like they've updated it and removed both references today.

"TV Channels: Channel line ups are subject to change. Channels may be subject to change, including regional variations. TV packs currently exclude some teletext services. ITV HD is subject to regional variation. ITV HD is not available where STV HD or UTV HD is available. "

Poland Vs. Scotland next week is live and exclusive on the Daily Record website.
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/f...d-free-3193666
The friendly was set to be a pay-per-view event until Vauxhall stepped in and signed up with the Record to bring the game to fans and Vauxhall's head of sponsorship, Chris Hornbuckle, said: "We are delighted to have partnered with the Daily Record to deliver the Poland versus Scotland game to both sets of fans for free."

"The live streaming of the first senior Scotland international fixture is a ground-breaking opportunity and a significant shift from the traditional model."

Sky Sports has completely frozen BT Sport out of the climax of one of the closest Premier League title races ever after the warring media giants revealed their April fixture lists.

Sky fully exploited its control of which matches it picked when in order to deliver a potentially record-breaking month in which 16 of the 17 live games it shows will involve teams in the current top six.

To my untrained eye, that does seem to show how worried Sky are about BT Sports. Considering how tight the bottom of the league is, there may well be more fans interested in the relegation battle this season. It could (but I doubt it will) be a blessing for BT Sports if they get to show the games the majority of the fans are interested in.
