Switching Coax Internet and TV

Hey peeps, getting a new sofa but it will take 13 weeks to make the damned thing (DFS) and we have nothing else to sit on so was looking to moving the TV into the bedroom along with the Tivo box.

I was thinking of using the coax cable for the router that is in the bedroom for the Tivo box and putting the router in the living room and use an already in place ethernet cable, can that be done without any problems ?

or would it be possible to put a splitter on the coax cable in the bedroom and run another cable from that, so i could run my router + Tivo ?
