broadband upgrade

Hi all

Just got my e-mail about the increase in broadband speed (in my case 20 MB up to 50 MB). I've read a few posts saying that the superhub 2 will be provided (i'm currently on a very reliable but old ambit 255 modem). My questions are

1) will i receieve a shub 2 automatically and will it require an engineer visit or do i have to actively pursue getting the shub2 and

2) will this tie me into a contract ?

if i'm tied into a 12 month contract i won't be very impressed as it's not something i've asked for, i'm actually quite happy with my current reliable 20 meg connection.

I've also got XL tv (via a very old SD samsung box) and L phone, neither of which i'm really bothered about any more so my other option could be a call to retentions to try and get a 21 st century deal.

Re: broadband upgrade

If your present set-up is incapable of delivering the faster speeds you will be sent a SH2 as a self install, you just have to ring up to activate it once connected.

AFAIK no contract extension.

Re: broadband upgrade

Thanks pip...so presumably a self install is easy these days e.g. no crimping tools required ??

Re: broadband upgrade

A pair of pliers may be needed to undo the coax connection (White cable) from your modem. It's a screw-on connection.
