Price rise, will you be changing package or provider?
Forgot about the price increase this month, and the package here has gone up by only (I say only because I am aware that some will have steeper rises) £3 (well just over actually). Gone from £87.19 to £90.75.
So who will be dropping stuff from their package or moving to SKY/BT because of the rise?

I will drop the movies as I find I no longer use this, find we are using Netflix more and more so I seem to be paying for a channel we do not use...so dropping it makes sense...

Was actually looking at the collections on Virgin earlier, and it seems that if I upgrade to the Premiere collection I would actually pay less than I am now. Not sure if it actually comes to that, but would make sense. And even if I added the HD sports/movies in it would still be cheaper than now.

Well we are tied into a contract for the next 9 months but when it ends we will be changing our package but not our provider.

Yeah I think you can but it starts a new contract. Not 100% sure on that, but would imagine it does.

Staying on same package, as at them moment i have a loyalty discount, which makes my package cheaper than BT/Sky.

Yeah mine runs out in July. And I read a thread on here a while back saying that retentions are not giving out loyalty discounts any more so no chance of having it renewed.

Not heard of that myself, but if they start dropping loyalty discounts at the end of contracts I can see a lot more people dropping items from their packages. It could also encourage more churn to other providers.

Not if you re-contracted to a new 12 month contract.

Re: Price rise, will you be changing package or provider?
I did negotiate a lower price a year or maybe less ago as I was considering moving to BT or Sky & have the big green BT fibre box outside my drive & as I remember I was promised a fixed price for 18 months at the time - Now I've been told I'm having a price increase, is it worth ringing 150 & going through this?
One thing I won't be doing is signing up for the 150 service available here in April as it includes a new contract unless I get a fixed price in writing from VM.

Re: Price rise, will you be changing package or provider?
I dropped to 30MB a while ago, so I'll be staying on that, keeping the phone & current tv (M) for now.

Re: Price rise, will you be changing package or provider?
After a bit of advice really guys about trying to get a good deal on VIP.....
Currently paying for...
Premiere Collection
Talk Weekends TV Size: X L 1 Additional V Box TiVo Monthly Fee Broadband XXL (Up To 120mb)
Premiere Collection total£60.50
Phone line rental
Line Rental
12 Month Line Rental Saver - Payment Made In Advance For Line Rental Until 02-JAN-15
Phone line rental total£0.00
Your package total£60.50
(I have 2 TiVos and not a V Box as stated)
Obviously they know I won't want to leave as I have paid my line rental saver back in November when I got the chance to renew.
Just feel from what I have seen on this forum that I could squeeze a better price out of VM for VIP package and even my current deal could be a better price if I'm honest.
Was wondering what price do you think I should be looking at getting the VIP package for seeing as I have already paid my line rental/
Not after a battle of pretending to leave just want a loyalty price thats all
Thanks guys
