Re: BBC iPlayer

It's not very resilient. Tried two shows in HD recently and one wouldn't play past the 2 min mark and another got to the last 5 mins, started buffering and then began again all the way at the beginning. Losing the superb quality HD catch-up of the VHD box is what I miss most since getting a TiVo.

Re: BBC iPlayer

Have you reported this? It shouldn't be happening. Mine works fine. Could be a signal problem or maybe a re-boot, but I'm sure they can sort this out for you. Give CS a ring.

Re: BBC iPlayer

VM finally got back to me. Apparantly, my upstream power on my broadband is 'in the red'. Getting an engineer tomorrow. Maybe someone can explain how this would affect on-demand TV?

Re: BBC iPlayer

Many thanks for the explanation, that makes good sense. Maybe tomorrow when VM have resolved the power issue, I'll get my catchup back and working.

I think it could be a signal issue, and it's worth reporting. The BBC i-Player on TIVO operates on a different system.

Re: BBC iPlayer

Iplayer on SD (Vbox) is next to useless these days, and they seem to blame the broadcaster (that's as it comes from them . it's not a guaranteed part of the service).

I have a V box in my bedroom and use it occasionally for the BBC Iplayer service on that system (as recently as Sunday) and I have not been experiencing problems. I think you are getting bad advice and need to call out a technician to investigate it.

If it is not happening to me, it can't be down to the broadcaster, surely?
