Mad Dogs series 3
Hi,
Forgive me if I'm in a minority here, but I have really enjoyed Mad Dogs on Sky 1 VOD.
It has recently been advertised on Sky1 that all 3 series are available to watch on Sky On Demand prior to the ultimate 2 or 3 episodes to be broadcast at the end of December.
The problem is that I can't see any VOD for series 3 despite it being clearly advertised as available.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but do Sky hold back on their VOD service to Virgin just to be a bit bullish and why am I expected to pay an extra £5/m from next Feb for an inferior service ?
Is this to cover BT Sports ? ....Well, I don't do sports, reality or cartoons why can't I get the package that I want?????
I subscribe to TV XL and have a V+HD box.
Anybody.....?

Re: Mad Dogs series 3
No idea why series 3 is not available on Virgin Media.
It may be as you suggest - Sky holding it back for commercial advantage. It wouldn't be the first (or last) time that this has been true.
If you honestly are concerned at the increased price for what you see as an inferior product, you should cancel immediately (and I really mean cancel).
Virgin Media with TiVo still provides me with exactly what I want at an acceptable price.
It seems that that's not the case for you.

Re: Mad Dogs series 3
Wouldn't Sky want as many people as possible to watch the previous 3 series irrelevant of platform considering Mad Dogs : The Finale is due to air.

The advert does say that all 3 series are available on Virgin Media in the small print. Have you checked for both a HD and SD version as it may only be available in one of them?

Yeah, it could of better. I did understand why it ended that way, but it could have been handled better. It looks like the writer/creator has left it ready for someone else to take up the reins and continue the show, should they feel the need.

Re: Mad Dogs series 3
Thanks for all your replies, didn't expect so many.
In the end I decided NOT to watch the final episodes since without series 3, I doubt that they would make much sense.
Since the demise of Virgin TV channels, I assumed that Virgin was a "TV content provider". They don't seem to be doing a very good job of providing that content. No boxed sets available (at least on my set up) and films priced at least 50p above Sky!!
I think I'm going to go with RobboEdin and cancel or reduce my subscription.
It costs me almost £65/m for TVXL, 60mb B/B and Talk weekends.
I rarely use the phone, I don't watch sport, cartoons, reality TV or shopping channels. My 60mb B/B is no better than my 30mb B/B was (probably because the speed is down to the server that supplies the data) so for Virgin to add another £5/m to my bill just breaks the bank, and my patience. AND I don't even have TiVo!!!!!!
I'll see what retentions have to offer but it seems that the Internet may be the next best TV content provider and the likes of Virgin are on the way out!
