Thanks for the replies guys. Personally don't want any additional internal cabling so I'll want them to do it as per Andy and John have confirmed.

The new point will be on an external wall so they'd just need to run a cable from omni-box down the side of our house and round the back to where the bedroom is and there are no obstacles so I would imagine it should be the easiest option for the tech anyway.

Sorry quick question about cabling, in my bedroom where we have our cable modem and wall socket, what additional cabling work would the techie need to do to install a VHD box in this room?

The only additional cable would be to connect the V Box to the cable modem cable.

I would assume he would use a splitter on the original to save installing extra external cable
