Since when have the UKTV HD channels been in the M+ pack? Is this just temporary or have they moved permanently?

Indeed, Alix Pryde has been very careful not to announce any dates the BBC may not be able to meet...

She is pushing it a bit, I have a feeling we will see the channels live before she announces it. All services list on the EPG that they launch on Tuesday. Someone must have told the bloke who posted the message on VM that they launch Tuesday. I guess she's not announcing it in case the Freeview transmitters that are due to launch Tuesday don't go online!

Digital UK has announced the on-air dates for the Freeview multiplexes, so that shouldn't be the cause of any delay. Note, however, that although the BBC has managed to get a live video slate on BBC 3 / CBBC on their existing multiplex, BBC 4 / CBeebies and BBC News are still carrying MHEG "coming soon" messages on the new multiplex. Perhaps the BBC are waiting for the playout network to actually be in place and functioning before announcing the date. The Dec 10 "tuning event" date for the next batch of Freeview transmitters is a logical target date for the launch, assuming the circuits and the playout network are also ready by that date.

Interestingly, Digiguide has recently added the new BBC HD channels, with a launch date of Dec 21. Certainly not a definitive source, but do they know something we don't? That date would seem to be perilously close to Christmas.

I pointed this out on DS, December 21st is not possible, it's not only too close to Christmas but many services have the EPG freeze over Christmas. Sky's will begin next Saturday and they won't allow a "Coming Soon" channel on EPG without it broadcasting something for 2 weeks!

As I said, I wouldn't consider Digiguide to be a definitive source.

Nevertheless, there's now 3 days to go to the assumed launch date of the 10th and it's the weekend. Still no active BBC video / audio streams on the new Freeview COM7 multiplex, although they have been added to the PSB3 multiplex. Time is running out.. it's pretty obvious why Dr Pryde didn't announce a launch date with such tight deadlines.

Didn't that use to be on the platform before? IIRC it was just images/video with classical music soundtrack?

ATM it's using Showcase on Sky but yes it is still the same images/videos with classic music. Showcase2 is rumoured to become landscape channel and 1taketv want it on all platforms apparantly. I'm watching this rumour closely as it's a nice channel to relax and wind down too.
