But that's not really the point is it , the BBC and Sky app were already out to the general public and running on earlier versions of Android , its crazy to launch a product to the entire customer base that's not been previously available on Android and not include access for those on the latest version of Android as you've said the code was out a few months ago which is plenty of time to include it.

But as Stephen said, where do you draw the line?
Most Nexus devices have only had the update within the last 14 days or so, but the TVA app will have been in testing before then. So to test against all the Nexus devices with 4.4 would have meant pushing back the app launch.

Yes I understand all of that. You're earlier posts seemed to suggest that you'd be able to do this on an android tablet, which I didn't think was the case, and why I queried it. Thanks for reply.

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
whats the point in this since you need wifi? at least sky lets you use 3g/4g and doesn't lag at all so they can't use that as an excuse, plus you cant even watch sports which is all i care about.

I understand your pain about the 3G but BT Sports/ESPN/Eurosport works on this, over wifi but then most pubs/clubs have wifi now.

Well the point for me would be I could watch it in my bedroom. And no I can't do it on a TV or a PC because I have nowhere to put either in the said bedroom.I've not even room to swing the proverbial cat.

Re: TV Anywhere Android App
I have to say I am disappointed by the app compared to the iOS one. OK, I am using it on the Nexus 10 running Android 4.4, so I know streaming doesn't work and it might not be the same experience as on supported devices.
First impressions: screen doesn't rotate. In the TV guide on Android you select a channel and only in a new window can you see what's on other next hours. On iOS you select the channel and can see what's on in same window without the need to jump back and forth. And then in my recordings on iOS you can swipe and delete. On Android it's a long press and then delete. And just in general the iOS app seems a lot more snappier.

I imagine that 3G access will be enabled in a future version.

At least on ios you could jailbreak your phone, and install my3g, tricking your phone into thinking it's using wifi. I wish there was an app like that for android.
