Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
Is the 6.7% increase on the WHOLE bill, or just on the broadband?
I am very happy with TV (M), Phone (L) and BB (30Mb) for £27/month. And my BB will be upgraded to 50Mb next year. Amazing!
Also 6.7% of £27 is only £1.80.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
It'll be interesting to see what the rises are but with BT increasing line rental (obviously nothing to do with acquiring football rights ) naturally Sky (who are in for te same sports rights) and the rest of the market will follow upwards.
We don't have genuine competition we have ogliopoly.
The advantage for Virgin as this revenue could be used to try and keep BTS in XL or subsidise it to some degree. Regardless of how BTs pricing strategy goes, it's better for them to have subscribers via VM (less likely to have Sky Sports and/or to reduce Sky DTH market share in VM areas) leaving BT a clean run at Sky outside the VM network driven by their own profits and fixed VM revenues.

I had a freeview box for a while when it started but it was sitting gathering dust so I gave it to a mate ages ago. I just download or stream TV anyway, so who needs a Tivo. I really can't understand why I ever watched fixed channels, except of course at the time I had no other choice. Once you have a choice of watching whatever you want whenever you want without waiting it's obvious.

Today I received a letter showing the same increase (i.e. £5.75). As my monthly package for internet, TV and phone totals £65.35/month this price increase calculates out at 8.8% over all three services.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
My letter also said £5.75 for my £68.99 bill (8.3%). I was on VIP in the past but the constant price increases meant I downgraded, I think I might need to look at removing stuff again.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
I totally agree . the market for pay tv will crash big time if the price keeps going up and up . people will not keep paying for more repeats . I know free sat / free view don't have lots of channels but it will do for me anyway .

Don't expect that to save you much if anything.

Lot's of talk re. cancelling TV services and keeping BB/phone, surely if you do this you will lose your bundle discounts? .. unless retentions get round that somehow?

You will partially, but TV is so highly priced that Sky's regular 50% off deals will be a better deal especially for those not bothered about BT Sports.
