Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.

As quoted on BBC Sport:

Quote:
BT Sport is on the verge of announcing a £900m deal which would end two decades of live Champions League football on terrestrial TV, according to a senior source at the company.
The broadcaster has been in talks with European governing body Uefa and is close to revealing it has won the right to show Champions League and Europa League matches from 2015.
A three-year deal, reported by the Telegraph newspaper, will be seen as a blow to both Sky and ITV, who currently share the rights.
Nice little addition but at a cost?.

Of course there will be at a cost and that cost will be paid by the consumer but one thing is becoming increasingly clear and that is with the ascent of BT Sports , Netflix and Liberty Global the days of Sky outbidding and bullying others in the market are over.

Well we don't know what will happen in Autumn 2015 so that remains to be seen.

The masters great Skydor fortress is now crumbling before our eyes but as like the Titanic thy loyal master will go down with his ship one suspects.

Some or all channels are rumoured to arrive or not arrive on VirginMedia possibly sometime in the future.

That's summed it up pretty succintly I think.

It will interesting to see how Sky react if the Chamions League deal proves to be true. I don't know that SS customers will drop SS though Den. Sky should be able to pass on some savings on to their SS customers () and still make an obscene amount of profit from it.

For the time being they still have Prem. League, English Cricket, English Rugby Internationals and various top golf tournaments. They could all change too though before 2015. It is currently still a big draw to sports fans who can afford to pay and/or don't mind being ripped off by SS.

BT will probably have another push at selling Broadband and still give the sports free with it.
