Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
bamav I think people are hoping it will be free on XL all of the time and not just a special offer. There was a screenshot some months back that said 6 months free but was quickly pulled from virgin media pages

Ok, possibly it might be free with the XL package for 6 months, but surely this is a completely independent product, which will simply be provisioned by VM, with charges direct to Netflix? Same as Spotify?
|
It's pure speculation, bamav, based on the perceived devaluation of the XL pack without something to replace the channels that have been made available to lower level packages.
If they can do it with BT Sport and ESPN, I would assume they could reach a similar deal with Netflix. Non-sports fans have lost out for too long and this would be seen, I think, as reasonable compensation for them.

Yes, and if they come during this month, we will all be very happy! I agree that autumn is as close as we can get to a launch date, but as we have seen with Fox +, even dead certainties can end up being delayed inexplicably.

When exactly? You've been spouting this for months and months.
Clue: An acceptable answer is 'next Tuesday' or even 'next week' but this continual vagueness is not acceptable and is why you're getting so much flak.
Put up (provenance), or shut up.

The rumour was partly fuelled by the BBC web site news report on the announcement of the trial, that said that Netflix may be included in some bundles.
How true their information was, who knows?

That's far too simplistic, Justa. You know very well that dates are only pencilled in and these dates can change. There is the most recent example of Fox + that proves this point.
If you want specific dates, you will rarely get them because VM keep changing them and hardly ever confirm anything until they are actually on your screen.

Do you know if Sky are still offering 50% off for 12 months? I have Googled but can only find 6 months.
Getting the full TV package for around £33/month is very appealing when I pay the best part of £26 just for SD Sky Sports. Best of both worlds then, TiVo & all HD channels on offer in the UK

XL must be getting new channels or their would be no point in having XL pack.
|
XL is changing to vms version of Skys HD pack but with bt sport added also some goodies will be added to XL one rumoured is a movie chanel which could very well mean Netflix.

Their latest offer for 50% off via Money Supermaket ended on the 17th October. Should be back on during the first 2 weeks of December, if you can wait.
