Halo 3 is currently a FREE download on Xbox Live until October 31st, it is a 5.72GB download.

Microsoft have extended the free Games with Gold promotion on the 360 indefinitely.
I hope they eventually do something like this on the Xbox One too, although i think it will be a while before that happens.

I think it's most likely going to be a very long while - how can MS give away five year old Xbox One games that everyone already has if the console hasn't even been released yet?  
I really hope MS improves this... While it's a nice gesture, it's pretty crap when compared to PS+.

Games for free is great, not played halo 3 yet which will likely get over shadowed in a months time when I get my x1.

I will pick up Gears or War even though i have it on disc so i get it on Digital, although i feel i wont game on my 360 again after getting the Xbox One.

Microsoft is continuing with Games With Gold in the new year, starting with Sleeping Dogs on 1st January, followed by an old tomb raider game on the 16th
