Can I pick up a parcel on behalf of my partner?
Hi,
I need to get a parcel from the sorting office for my partner tomorrow as she is unable to collect it herself due to work and other commitments and we need it by Wednesday.
We live at the same address but we dont have the same surname as we are not married.
If I take her passport or bank card with my own id to prove address would this be ok?
Many thanks for any advice.

Just take the card that came through the door as that should be enough. Never once have I been asked for ID when collecting a parcel from the sorting office.

Yes to recorded delivery. I've taken ID but never been asked. Providing the slip that's landed on the mat has always been enough.

Yup, I've never been asked for ID either.

At my local sorting office they wont give the parcel over without the card that the postie left at your house and I would definitely take some form of ID from your partner such as Passport or Driving License.

is it RM we're talking about? if so then may be reading may help ?
ignore the 24/48hr wait. postman pat normally returns all undelivered post at the end of his/her round, same day.

Re: Can I pick up a parcel on behalf of my partner?
my missus has taken my photo driving license to collect a parcel on my behalf.
my dad tried once with none of my idea but they wouldn't let him have the parcel, which invonvenient for us, but was the correct thing for them to do.
Best to follow the guidelines as printed on the card shown above

If you take some ID of hers, together with some of your own ID that shows you live at the same address, you should be fine.

Re: Can I pick up a parcel on behalf of my partner?
I went this morning and they asked to see my partners bank card. Not even my own ID. Was all sorted.
Many thanks for the replies.
