VM want their equipment back!!!
Yesterday, I received an email from VM which falsely claimed that I was no longer a VM customer.
It then went on about how to return their equipment.
Has anybody else received this nonsense?

No.
(Well, I can't speak for all the VM customers, but I haven't).

Re: VM want their equipment back!!!
Are you sure it originated from Virginmedia?

Re: VM want their equipment back!!!
I thought they normally wrote to you saying sorry you're leaving and with details on how to return equipment?

Re: VM want their equipment back!!!
Give them a call and have a chat with them , it copuld be a simple error on their system.
Be very careful of these kind of emails though as there are a lot of scams going around , i had one claiming i upgraded to Skymovies on VM Upon closer inspection the email wasn't from VM at all just a silly scammer trying their luck.
Just call 150 from your virgin landline and they'll sort it out.

Re: VM want their equipment back!!!
Mostly likely simple human error. I'm pretty sure no compensation will be offered (or expected) regarding their false accusation of you no longer being their customer and I'm equally sure no employee will be disciplined as a result.

What a bizarre post! I hope everything is alright Russ.
As you were kind enough to say that you would take into consideration that I was recently on medication due to a lot of pain when posting suggestions to improve the site, I will afford you the same courtesy due to your unfortunate illness and any associated medication that has to be taken as a result.

Cheers Hugh, it doesn't look like anyone else has received this email either.
I was thinking that it could be an incorrect en masse mailing as has happened in the past.

Maybe it's just me then, but I did chuckle at this obvious bit of fun. Clearly just my warped sense of humour.
On a different note, I always believed Virgin would write to you asking for equipment back ?

Me too, I've never heard of them emailing someone about it before.

It wasn't humour, it was sardonic sarcasm crafted to cause upset. He does have a history of bringing attitudes/different subjects into various threads in order to cause bad feeling and/or cause disruption.
Having said that, he does have a mental health disability, so a little understanding is appropriate.

Me neither, but having contacted them today, it appears that the "Virgin Media Collections Department' is now up and running...... and not doing a very good job thus far by asking existing customers to return their equipment!!!
This is an inconvenience to customers and a waste of company resources.
I have just got off the 'phone to somebody who is going to take a look at what this particular team "is up to", so hopefully nobody else will be getting nonsensical emails

And then perhaps even fewer nonsensical threads will be started....

Re: VM want their equipment back!!!
Which thread/s are you referring to and why do you believe them to be nonsensical?
Or were you just attempting to stir up matters by being rude?
