I can't see how people can call it cruel! It's no different than any other animal that is culled for its meat. What's the big deal?

True according to those who survived the plane crash in the Andes in the 70s who had to eat the uncooked flesh of their dead friends.

Re: China: Dog Meat Festival Goes Ahead Despite Protest
May be a myth but I believe, translated, cannibals called us " long pigs" due to us tasting like pork.
In regards to eating dogs, I agree it is our culture and affinity to the dog that makes eating them, to us, unacceptable. Other than that there is no issue with eating dog meat, or any meat for that matter.
Obviously, how the animal is treated is the big issue, not necessarily whether it is consumed or not.

Re: China: Dog Meat Festival Goes Ahead Despite Protest
This is very sad story, BUT this sort of thing goes on in THIS country.
Animal cruelty in the UK is just as bad, On Monday, l saw a Labrador with THREE bricks tied round its neck, that had been thrown in a local canal. To make sure it was dead.
Cruelty is everywhere to animals, when l saw that sad dog, l went and gave our Yorkei a big cuddle.

Did you not contact the RSPCA or the police?
I saw an old lady being beaten, I went home and gave my old mum a cuddle!
