Switzerland to vote on $2,800 monthly ‘basic income’ for adults

More than 100,000 residents in Switzerland have signed a petition demanding that the government ensure a minimum monthly income of nearly $2,800 (2,500 Swiss francs) for all adults in the country.

I'm sure they could just seize the contents of some safe deposit boxes to cover the costs. That seems like the sort of thing a son of a Britain hating Marxist would do if a similar law came in here.

It'll be interesting to see the results of this referendum, any idiot can get a proposal to referendum in Switzerland. I can't see the electorate as a whole falling for it.
