Or you could say the £5 Tivo charge cancels out the Sky HD charge and both options come with PVR.

Don't believe everything you hear or read Chad.

l think you will find that Virgin is a very respected and well known brand and personally l think it will stay as it is.

The £32 Chad quoted includes HD the exception being Sky premium HD.

Den prices will increase of that you can be assured however I personally can't see £6 although its worth mentioning that if the TV product increased by £3 this would represent an increase of 10% considering XL with TIVO costs £29.50 if you take a VM phone.

I believe the term of the licence was for 30years.
They will not ditch the virgin brand, it is far too valuable. If they want to unify the liberty group, which there is no rush to do, then they would better utilising the virgin brand across Europe if possible.

Really? After all the postings saying that BT sport was rubbish, didn't have games anyone wanted to watch, you think they will decide it is now the best thing since sliced bread?
Nope, can't see that happening.
You could argue if there was a viable choice (ie a price), people would drop the BT sport, for sky. But I would be very surprised it happening the other way

Don't forget sky has 116 premier league games, English international and domestic cricket, champions league etc... Bt sport isn't a viable alternative yet.

You are spot on with your comments with regards to the BB and BT sport value with VM. I also think that TIVO is very good value at a fiver a month, esp. (as you say) if anyone was to consider the possible savings from extra broadband costs.
In regards to TV Anywhere/Sky go (my knowledge is poor), I do believe VM still have more channels you can watch live too? I know BT Sports is a bonus for TV Anywhere at the very least!! I also believe there is some form of optional charge for Sky Go with regards downloads but not from VM. Another point of difference is that you can watch your recordings on TV Anywhere, but I have not seen that advertised by Sky (happy to be corrected on all these points though).
Lets hope VM do get Sky Atlantic next month, and I have no reason to doubt Howard's statement given he was right about BT sport. I will be fascinated to see what Sky do next (other than offer a cheaper price for their packages)!

Cheers Harry but please remember I only say they are planned and from the info I was given sky Atlantic is planned for autumn, bomberaf has recently confirmed this and as gone as far to say sept and a date.i suspect like bt sports the deal is sorted and its just waiting for a launch day(but I could be wrong) in regards tv anywhere as far as I am aware you can not watch recorded program's with it think it as been talked about but I suspect we will see on demand streaming first

You are indeed correct about recordings. Thanks for correcting me, I clearly misremembered the blurb about TV anywhere when it came out.
I have just downloaded the TV Anywhere app and fear I may be being corrected a lot on my TV Anywhere/Sky go points.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
I don't know why everyone is getting so excited about possibly getting Sky Atlantic..Because there was a time we were missing Sky 1 only for us to get it back but Sky to go ahead and set up Atlantic instead and put their new super super shows on that..
Now would they do that to us again?

Don't forget SKY Sports is due for a £3.25 (or £3.75) price increase on VM come October which will then make it £36.00 a month including HD compared with about £27.25 on SKY.
In order to keep people subscribing to SKY Sports on VM, I wouldn't be surprised to see SKY drop the premium HD charge in the coming months as otherwise people are just going to drop it and SKY need the subscribers and advertising revenue to fight back against BT Sports.

Personally l think the market has changed since SA launched two years ago Maggy and l cannot see them doing it again but then l am usually wrong on most things.

Pray tell Den. Am i wrong?
If it doesn't suit you..it is sour..but if it does suit your purposes, it is manna from heaven.
Interesting take on the world, where truth to you is only what your limited view sees. Next you will be telling me that Liverpool really won every league, as you don't recognise any team that places above Liverpool.
Better watch, they tend to use strait jackets for that sort of behaviour

I think they were only a minor amount of posters on here who were not bothered by BT Sports. I also don't recall saying people will now think it is the best thing since slice bread. Please do not put words in my mouth, esp. words that are far removed from my original post. I was simply thinking a saving of around £30 a month (depending on SD/HD package) for football fans who do not care for many other sports could be a viable option in this current climate.
You are probably right, I also doubt there will be a lot people who will drop SS.
It would just be interesting to me to see if any customers do have similar thoughts and drop SS.
I will try and be clearer in my future posts!
