You only sell the ones who you think are useless.

Liverpool shot themselves in the head when they offered Kenny Dalglish a job. After what he did to Newcastle you'd have to be mad. They learnt the hard way though and now they're making record losses on his bogus signings.
You think Newcastle fans hate Joe Kinnear lol. Stick Dalglish in charge and you'll find a whole other level of hate

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Arsenal won't get Suarez. We have the most incompetent transfer department in the business it seems, everyone from Wenger to Ivan seems utterly out of their depth when it comes to getting deals done. We simply seem unable to get a deal done if other teams are interested in the player and now that we've lost an edge in scouting (all teams do it all the time everywhere) we are rarely able to unearth a gem as we did often 10 years ago and thus ALWAYS face competition for the best players.
Gustavo has many teams after him including Juve and Napoli, does anyone really think that we'll beat them to him? Of course not. Arsenal may want him and he may want Arsenal but we won't close the deal. We'll play hardball on the salary when we don't have the position to argue from, we'll stall because Modric might leave Madrid, and Napoli will turn up and pay the cash.

Although I agree the rest are incompetent, Wenger is a massive problem

1:35:10 Suarez stance with input from an open Damien Comolli
1:56:07 John Motson reiterating Arsenals officials saying this is a big window with money to spend etc.
1:56:58 David Ornstein 'Arsenal had plans and Arsenal insist they still have those plans but they feel the market hasn't moved as they expected it to and they couldn't implement them plans. A lot of people would say well if you want to close a deal go and do it but Arsene Wenger who is in control of all the transfer dealings at Arsenal wont pay over his valuations of players and interestingly you mention Higuain, my information is that they didn't actually make a bid for Higuain they agreed personal terms with him and they parked that one while they saw how their pursuit of Suarez was going, they prioritised Suarez and didn't make a bid and thats how Napoli came in very quickly as Rafa Benitez said last weekend' 'I think Arsenal have come to terms with the fact they might not get a star striker, their still monitoring the Suarez situation and Rooney is among their other options they say they have 3 or 4 options for all positions but most clubs would say that but they have been heavily linked with a player in the last couple of days and they are interested in him, Luiz Gustavo is a holding midfielder at Bayern Munich reports suggest they are close to a 14m pound move, reports say there has been a bid made and accepted, my information is thats incorrect and Arsenal haven't made a bid yet that seems to be coming out of Germany and his camp but they are definitely interested in him thats not a striker'

hes become an extremist trying to drive down the market inflation. hes a hypocrite too willing to take cash off everyone. he inflates his own wage bill high enough so we can't sign players. he even tried to get the ****ing January window closed, the very window that has saved us from falling out the CL (signing Arshavin). hes totally lost in his way. i dont know anymore, if we sign players brilliant. if not then let Wenger see out his contract and our new manager can have 150m to spend next summer and a wage bill thats been pretty much cleared of crap.

Yes l have to agree with a lot of what you have said because here we are on August the 14th and Arsenal have not signed anybody apart from a young player and although we have not got a lot to shout about at Anfield the thing is if l was a supporter supporting Arsenal l would be extremely unhappy with what has transpired in the last couple of years.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Wenger is rationally right to resist the insane direction football is moving. The problem is it doesn't appear to be getting less rational any time soon, football has gone too far beyond that and won't come back. Clubs will American owners that have stupid ideas of football clubs needing to turn a profit will be shunted aside in favour of those using football as a branding exercise or hobby.
So increasingly Wenger seems isolated and alone and Arsenal lost alongside him as the world moves on. I really hope this isn't the case but it appears increasingly likely that it is. I think Wenger and Arsenal were banking on FFP and this summer, with it meant to come into effect, was when Arsenal's new stadium and prudence would pay off. We would have entered with the money to spend just as everyone had to cut back. That did not happen and instead players were going for more money than ever before, I mean £80 million for Gareth Bale? So their plans fell though.....
But every football fan should agree with Wenger just like they should agree with Liverpool sticking up to Suarez and United sticking up to Rooney. We should want that to be how it works. We're just pragmatic so we want those players and we want Wenger to buy.
Wenger is a football romantic and we're cynical realists.

it has been inflated but you just cant keep blaming Chelsea, City, PSG, Monaco etc. etc. there is a middle ground but its not been taken. Why didn't Wenger sign an extra head in 07/08? what was stopping him but himself? have you seen our forecasts, thats without potential secondary boosts etc. Stan has already made a minimum 400m on his investment. there is scope for business/profit and it isn't just a hobby playground. these extreme far left/right views are stupid. can we not have middle ground? its right there, its always been there.
all the FFP and not being able to spend is ********. how in the hell can clubs not spend. Arsenals incompetent officials have sold this ******** view of everyone is out of their depths and we're not. well thats not true. even if you take City, Chelsea, PSG, Monaco out the picture there are clubs run well which have money. boo hoo other clubs spend big money. how many players have Arsenal missed out on differing? and then they moan theres no quality? it just doesnt add up! in a game where theres more money than talent Arsenals officials should know not to differ. all the journos worth listening to say Arsenal are too slow wrapping up deals.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
My post made a more complicated point than blaming City etc. I agree there is a middle ground but Wenger thinks the prices are inflated in the first place and it simply isn't sensible. He is right but it's not realistic, we need to buy some players.
