Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
All i am bothered about now is that the loss of channels [including an HD one!] is reflected in a price reduction NOW by Virgin Media.
Its outrageous they are sweeping this all under the carpet and not addressing it head on - simple FAQ on ARE WE GETTING REPLACEMENTs?
1) if NO then all packs (L to XL) should be reduced by £1-£3
2) if YES then details of which ones are in negotiation and timescales
Every commercial discussion should have deadlines and targets and if there aren't any and VM are just riding a driverless train then they are more unprofessional than I ever thought.

Sky ARE apparently considering launching a new 'Sky Bravo' channel and have, apparently, been in talks with Virgin Media about carrying it, but without agreement.
Looks like more is going on than meets the eye.

Interesting that they are holding off on launching the channel due to not agreeing carriage deal with VM. Maybe some tie in with the previous sale to Sky

Oh well, now it's out in the public domain I feel comfortable sharing what I know about SKY's intentions for the new channel.
As suggested it's a male orientated channel. It’s going to have an adrenaline theme. A combination of sport and high octane American programming. The channel will also contain reality programming.
Think along the lines of Wrestling, Boxing, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Spartacus to get an idea of what the channel will feel like. I’m not suggesting these shows will be on the channel, but give a flavour of what SKY are looking to achieve.

It's too early to talk about replacements when BT Sport is just around the corner! It's coming, just have to be patient. My guess is that it will arrive on or immediately before 17th.
That's the price for holding out for the best deal available.

TCM2 will close at 4am on Monday night on Virgin Channel 417 - but take note the EPG on TCM2 is not right from Tuesday.
TCM +1 will launch on Astra (Sky) but not on Virgin Media on Tuesday.
Well done Virgin - so far this month (From Tuesday) we have loss FIVE Channels but no new channels.

Not so worried about timeshift channels, but we all know what we are really waiting for. Better not let us down... (grits teeth)

1) L Pack should be reduced? For what reason?
2) for obvious reasons these deals are shrouded in secrecy. If it was the case that Virgin were going to get it in XL and Sky got wiff of that, what do you think they will do?

That's how they got TCM2 at rock bottom price! Nice while it lasted

I really cant see Virgin cutting the prices of L or XL due to five channels (From Tuesday) being remove but Virgin may hold the prices of the L and XL Packages in 2014.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
I think if TCM+1 doesnt launch it means that the negotiations team have either given up or are too busy bashing out deals with BT and Sky!

Oh I agree, i was pointing out the poster had said that both L and XL should be reduced, and I was questioning his reasoning on L being reduced when they havent even lost a 24 hour channel!

Ha, ha, this is such a good game! I know it looks bleak, but if Sky have it in mind to release Sky Atlantic to Virgin Media about mid September, the ad is correct. Not too bothered about that to be honest.
