Aye fox and comedy centra extra are good channels tho. I enjoy the odd episode of family guy and american dad.
Is it worthwhile speaking to retentions at the moment?? im out of contract and currently on medium broadband and XL tv. Could be worth trying to get VIP for a few more quid and a new contract?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
Might not be worth it, I saw on Twitter someone say they called Virgin yesterday afternoon and they were told fine, leave and go to SKY. Depends on who you get and what sort of day they've had I suppose.

I could be wrong (apologies if so) but from your earlier posts regarding your conversation with the CEO's office, it seems as if a deal is going to happen; the information you got was enough to make you stay rather than switch to Sky, which at the time, you were on the verge of doing. But given that other people are moving to Sky, which surely the CEO's office know about and should be concerned about, what is the hold up? Did they give you an explanation or a hint of what it is?
It seems strange that VM CEO's office could persuade you to stay, whilst seeing other customers defecting to Sky. Something doesn't add up.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
I think retentions were really surprised when I phoned up and said I wanted to cancel Broadband and Phone but keep TV. I was going to go the full hog but I have tried to find out how much it would cost to get Sky installed in my flat and have just gone round in circles.
The communal dish installer tell me to phone my management company because I don't actually have the satellite points installed in my flat, however the management company say I need to contact the installers as its nothing to do with them they just agreed to the dish being installed. In the end I just decided to keep TV with VM.
I did ask about Sky Atlantic and was told that BT Sports is their priority at the moment.

The decision means subscribers to BT’s YouView packages will not be able to watch the majority of live televised football for the foreseeable future. BT had applied to the regulator to use its interim powers to force a deal before the first matches on 17 August, arguing BSkyB was abusing its dominance of the market to damage a rival. Ofcom has not rejected the complaint outright, but said today it does not believe BT will be damaged enough to justify emergency action. It said it will not make a full decision for months and potentially not until next year....."

This highlights why Virgin might be having a tough time with BT.
BT are prepared to risk not having SKY Sports on their YouView platform in order to avoid wholesaling BT Sports to SKY.
If BT are prepared to weaken themselves to try and weaken SKY who knows what they are prepared to do to try and weaken Virgin.
Still no carriage deals agreed with any UK TV platform to carry BT Sports.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
I have been trying all afternoon to get through to cancel. On 2 separate occasions waited over 20 minutes before i gave up.
Does anybody know how long it takes VM cancellations to answer the calls?
Of course i am not going to cancel just want a bill reduction
Oh and Discovery Travel and Living is not on XL as it closed a few months back when TLC launched, I find it off that History 2 is on L when History is only on XL.
Does anybody know what happened to the suggestion that Spotify was going to be bundled in with XL?

It could take you quite a while to get through as they have less staff manning the phones generally over the weekend.

Not posted for ages, but just emailed the ceo, and got a speedy response from the team, that didn`t overtly seem like a cut and paste job. So shall see what happens, when they get back to me.

that's because loads and loads are people are ringing up to cancel as Virgin haven't got BT SPort. might takes you hours to get through because i'll let you in on a little secret, there are loads and loads of Sports fans in the UK. The Premier League is the biggest most important product of any form that the country produces, and loads and loads of people want to watch it. And the other sports they show. That's why contrary to Cable Forum belief, it is a massive, massive big deal to not get the channels, it's horrific business and not 'good business for Virgin' at all. loads of people are leaving and even more will leave if they haven't got it on the 17th, and no absolutely other channel can adequately fill in for BT Sport. Because you can't watch live barclays premier league matches on Nick HD and Sky Atlantic, so everyone wants to leave.
Just like I said
(and was told by everyone I was wrong)

I now take back what i said (different thread folks)...you are a questionable source for info as well (as opposed to being "questionable" period)
"loads and loads"..your source is what?
Do you work on their helpdesk? Do you have so many friends who are Virgin customers that you can say this with authority?
wait..you don't work...and now I have to question whether you have friends..and no..a split personality doesn't count as friends

I need that oxford dictionary again, and i need to find the words 'denial', 'deluded' and 'pedant' once more. Then a thesaurus and the phrase 'arguing for the sake of arguing' and 'admit that you all lost'
