Both should sterilised to prevent them ever having children.
Deport them both now and return them to Poland.

I dare say the conditions in Polish jails would be a good deal harsher too.

It is not the first time anything like this has happend in this land of hope and glory, baby P case made me feel sick, this is just as bad, it is not the first time the authorities have failed and i am sure it won't be the last, i wonder how David Cameron can explain the difference about his government with regards to the fact that he was appalled when Labour social services couldn't prevent the Baby P disaster?
All governments are as bad as each other, Camerons lot have failed to protect Children in this country

The other bad side to this story is idiots will think all Polish treat kids like this.

Well, let's face it, idiots think all sorts of things and the UK doesn't have the monopoly on them.

Chance after chance was missed to intervene in the case of a four-year-old boy who was beaten to death by his mother and stepfather. A serious case review into the death of Daniel Pelka found repeated failures by agencies set up to safeguard children's welfare. But it concluded that nobody could have predicted his death at the hands of an abusive mother and stepfather last year.

Lessons will have been learnt though, the only lesson we want to know that has been learnt is that heads have rolled, anything else won't do.

Re: Daniel Pelka Murder Case: Parents 'Deliberately Starved Son'
I wonder if part of the problem here is the innate 'belief' that women couldn't do such things to their children. We're routinely given the impression that domestic abuse is very much a male v. female/child scenario despite the fact that there are very large numbers of men who suffer terrible abuse by their female partners and are appallingly treated by the authorities. Aspects of our family law system are heavily weighted towards women and this further reinforces the impression that women ought to be trusted ahead of their male partners. Perhaps if the authorities treated mothers and fathers in the same way and with the same degree of suspicion they wouldn't so often be taken in by evil, brutal women and our children would be safer as a result.

Yes a very big misconception. woman can and do such things to their own, and others children, on a regular basis.
Society wishes to think it is rare but it isn't.

Re: Daniel Pelka Murder Case: Parents 'Deliberately Starved Son'
I'm sure his teacher reported what she knew and observed further up the chain..The fact is unless those in overall charge actually think it's worth reporting to the relevant authorities it is hard to know what actions are being taken.
It takes courage to call out your superiors if you think they are mistaken. We all think we would do the right thing but until you are in that position if your head doesn't appear to do anything you would have to be pretty determined to go over someone's head and risk being a whistleblower.Maybe if such people were treated better we would get more action taking place.
Thankfully I only ever had to report about one child in my entire career and even then I wasn't sure exactly what had happened as the child concerned left the school pretty soon afterwards.

It's perpetuated in part by women's pressure groups which like to give the impression that, for example, women don't make false claims of rape. By doing this they're able to pursue their agenda to increase penalties and conviction rates and the fact that their stance adds to the suspicion with which men are increasingly treated doesn't bother them a jot. It's just collateral damage.
It's about time the authorities really woke up to the fact there are some very manipulative, irresponsible and dangerous women out there who are very adept at pulling wool over eyes.
