As someone who does watch sport, (except BT of course), i find it bizarre that people think it would be reasonable or fair to replace sports channels with non-sports channels. Channels that have not been available to date are surely a separate issue. Those that prefer to watch these should consider how they would respond if they had been able to watch them in the past and then had them taken away.

Very interesting whilst good news for Sky what does this mean for wholesale deals of BT Sport ? VM already have all the Sky Sports channels in SD and two in HD while BT can currently only offer its own sports channels with its You view box will they want to strengthen its competitors sports offerings ?I guess we'll have to wait and see.
It could be argued all the pay TV platforms now have stronger sports offerings than BT's You view.
|
BT can still offer Sky Sports via their BT Vision + box, which is the one automatically given to new customers who take up a Sky Sports sub. Ironic that BT were one of the primary partners in Youview and now have to leave them on the shelf but as far as I'm aware the BTV box does pretty much the same thing as Youview anyway.

in SD.
in my case, SD Sky Sports and no multiroom facility makes BT no option for me & the household I live in.

Or being able to pay the 2nd person, but then not being able to pay the 1st if what the Telegraph says is true. It'll be necessary to pay a 3rd person soon. Greed from all the companies is what has gotten us in this position. Taking advantage of this nation's unequivocal love of Sport. Well, the majority anyway, the minority represented on here hate sport and are only gutted because when they heard ESPN was going they assumed Nick HD and Sky Atlantic would come in its place. Because they haven't, nobody is happy.
|
For a start nick hd is already available if you care to look at the epg,I never considered sky Atlantic as a adequate replacement I just felt whilst we were waiting for bt sports to arrive and the fact that we were loosing 4 channels vm would have least acquired some channels to compensate for the loss whilst talking with bt continued, having known for 12 months that bt had the rights and for the last 6 months known espn was shutting its a total disgrace that they have not had a back up just in case this happened. As usual they have buried there head in the sand and done nothing yes we have seen some channel launches this year but come on jewellery channel, ginx TV just to name a few and to expect people to except 4 big channel loses without a reduction is scandalous.they have still been advertising for the past 12 months espn as a selling point and gained customers thru it and they have the cheek to call sky

You have to remember that I didn't have a option to NOT have these channels included in the bundle if i wanted XL. I'm not going to be upset about losing something I didn't want and had to pay for in the first place. I understand that everyone has a different opinion on having/not having sports but this is mine.
