Manchester United Club statement on Old Trafford

Following Trafford Council’s decision regarding Asset of Community Value status on its Old Trafford stadium, the club has issued the following statement:

“The club has received the decision by Trafford Council. Old Trafford is, of course, a special place; it is the heart and soul of the club. The club obviously sees it the same way, which is why over the last eight years it has demonstrated its commitment to Old Trafford by spending around £90m upgrading its facilities and it will continue that investment in the future.

“We do have concerns that the legislation is not being applied correctly which could set a precedent throughout the country. Therefore, we have asked the council to follow the statutory review process to ensure the legislation is being applied as intended and we shall continue to keep open communication with the Council.”

Talk TV revenue all you want, it's not going to matter if Spurs, Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle & Chelsea keep buying/selling players for ridiculous prices.

If Demba Ba kept going at Newcastle or got played at Chelsea what we thinking? about £60 million sound about right based on the Suarez fee? Don't be daft. Robin Van Persie? about a £100 million right there.

Basically raising the level of transfer fee's yet again It's great if your club can afford it, then there's us with millions lying around but apparently pennies to spend. Then comes this windfall of revenue which isn't going to matter that much in a transfer market as every team now want's double/triple what their player's worth!

i agree mate. i reckon 40m for Suarez is more than enough. Arsenal have delayed the team picture by a week apparently.
