Is there any role for Premier Sports in all this? Everything seems to have gone quiet on that front.

So no progress at all with them either becoming a paid for service or included in XL (although I appreciate that's unlikely)?

Premier Sports closed down their 'EXTRA' channel recently and lost the rights to showing live Blue Square football to BT Sport

With BT Sports taking over Blue square football - l think it is a safe bet that Premier Sports will fall to the wayside.

It certainly doesn`t look good for them. I don`t know what other sport they show because I`m only interested in football but I can`t see many subscribing now. The only possible solution I can think of is if they did a deal of some kind with either virgin and/or sky to become included in their packages (xl for virgin and sports pack on sky). Not sure whether they would make a bit more money that way rather than relying on people to sub to them separately or not?

Australian rugby league, NHL & NASCAR is all they have, all three perfect for BT/ESPN.

Its the Australian rugby league (NRL) and the Championship RL (the level below Super League) that I want from Premier Sports. I hope that it does come under VM's wings under what ever format. I can't get Sky (30m trees at the bottom of my garden means I can't get any reception), but I'd be off to BT like a shot if they got hold of the rights to those two

August 1st is also my contract renewal date, if BT sport does become available to VM with XL customers having to pay say £12pm then I may possibly be able to offset some of the increase by changing my pack from XL to L.
Having a look at the channels I regularly look at, I would only miss out on Nat Geo. I view Sky Sports News every day but that is available on L, the majority of progs on XL I have never bothered with.
I am going mad now, what is it 16 posts in 7 years? :-)
