Now TV Movies offer expires 27/513
Came across this post on DS for the movies part of Sky's Now TV for an offer of £15 for 6 months. Bills at £2.50 a month for 6 months, then goes to full price. You can cancel at any time.
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1830568
I thought it was a reasonable deal to give the service a try. Web site says full price after 6 months is £8.99, but email confirmation says £15. I doubt that will be an issue for me, as I don't expect to keep it after the trial period.

Its certainly worth trying for that although I've heard a lot of people complaining about the service , poor PQ and no HD being the main complaints.
Keep us posted on how you get on your thoughts etc , what device will you be using it on ?

I have NowTV on a Roku box, its pretty much flawless the ondemand runs perfectly and in HD. It also has all Sky movie channels live but the quality on them is not as good as streaming an ondemand movie.
You get ALL the movies you would get with a normal Sky Movie sub included. I've also used it on our XBOX360 and again its pretty much flawless. It can buffer and drop quality on our VM connection at peak times but is always great on our Sky connection.
Definitely give it a try if you have a device that has access to the NowTV app such as a Roku, or even your laptop.

Just tried my first film and the PQ is not as good as DVD quality. For films I'm not likely to see on Netflix for a good while, it's watchable though, considering the cheap price. At the full £15 price, or even the £8.99 price, I wouldn't subscribe.

Is HD limited to the Roku box? I'm streaming via the web on my HTPC and I can see no option for a HD stream. And of course, no 5.1 audio; just stereo.

Looks like NOW TV is not doing as well as SKY would like. £15 for 6 months so soon after launch suggests people are taking to the service in huge numbers. I would love to know how many people are taking SKY Sports at £10.00 per day.

Re: Now TV Movies offer expires 27/513
The problem with Now TV is its a streaming product and as such people expect cheap like Netflix and Lovefilm however Sky's offering has newer movies so is priced accordingly , in my opinion they'd have been better having a mix of movies but showing them not quite as early as Sky Movies also adding entertainment shows 6-12 months after there shown on Sky TV and pricing it around £8.99 - £9.99 the inclusion of HD across all products is badly needed as well.

I've just spotted a 'MAX' symbol on the web player. If you mouse over it, it says 'Quality level has reached the maximum available'.
Because it is next to the volume level, and I have that on max, I previously assumed that it was referring to the volume.

Now TV do not provide HD Streams; that's reserved for Sky Movies customers on the TV.
Your ROKU box is probably just upscaling it.

I'm now qualified to comment got the £1 offer just to try it , the PQ is very good on the On Demand movies however the live channels are poorer and personally I don't see the point. I've tried it on a Roku box and through an Xbox 360 both provide good PQ.

Have you tried it via the web? I watched a bit of Skyfall and wasn't impressed with either picture or sound.

No I'm sorry I haven't , my opinions are as follows on the Roku and Xbox the On Demand movie quality is very good however its never worth £15 in its current form.
I think they should have delayed some of their movies a month or two from Sky Movies launch date added some of their older shows and marketed it around £7.00.

For the £15 I paid for 6 months, I can't complain. I do find it irritating that I have to log in each time; I don't have to do that on Netflix, even when switching region, or had to do so on Lovefilm when I had it.
